For us it boiled down to tech
support, price and features such as disk space, bandwidth, control panel
type, amount of domains and databases per account.
Host
Monster tech support was quick when we used it. The sign up
process was easy and included a free domain name with registration. We
signed up for the two year package so our grand total was $118.00 for 24
months.
That includes everything... hosting, setup and brand new .com domain name.

web hosting package that we received at the time we signed up is
listed below. As mentioned, good tech support is a huge factor to be
looked at when choosing a hosting company. If your site is down or you
have a critical problem, you cannot afford to wait hours or even days
for help. You need immediate response!
Others features that we liked
about this hosting package is the
price, unlimited domains, the amount of disk space offered, the amount
of bandwidth offered and the amount MySQL databases offered. The only flaw we have
found with Host
Monster is that you only get one IP address. The easy way around this is
to set up a second account, at their low
prices, why not.
Another plus is that the
Host
Monster control panel is easy to use and very straight forward. New
users should pick up on it very easily.

1and1.com
offers some nice features but tech support was way too slow for our
liking. Phone calls were NEVER answered and tech support via e-mail took
up to three days in a couple of instances to receive a response. If their tech support
improves, they may be worth a look.

Do not judge a companies tech support by how fast their SALES phone
line is answered. Tech support is separate from sales.
