Why should you become an
affiliate marketer? I keep asking myself why everyone doesn't do
it! If you have internet access at home, you can work from
home. Actually, you can do it from any computer that has
internet access. No set hours either. You are your own boss.
Work when you want. Wouldn't some extra income help with the
escalating cost of living these days? You can also turn this
into a tax deductible business. Keep reading!
If you already have a website, you can always make room on
your site to place a text link, image or banner for an affiliate
program. If you need a website, that's our specialty -
-
If you have a dog grooming
website, join an affiliate program that offers
pet
supplies.
-
If you have a
travel website, join an affiliate program that offers
vacation packages, airfare. luggage, etc...
-
If you have a sports related
website, try joining an affiliate program that offers
sports tickets
The point is, as long as the
products offered by the merchants affiliate program are related
to the content on your site, you stand a much better chance of
converting your traffic into sales. What good would it do for
you to advertise links for tires on a website that sells
handbags?
Affiliate Programs to Avoid
-
Do not pay to join an affiliate
program. Why should you? You are the one doing them the favor by
promoting their product.
-
Do not join affiliate programs
that require you to use a website they provide for you. They
also provide the same website to dozens or even hundreds of
other affiliates. These "cookie cutter" websites rarely stand a
chance of ranking well in the search engines and you will find
yourself spending a lot of money promoting it.
-
Avoid affiliate programs that
offer low commissions on low priced products. 2% on a $10. book
sucks but 2% on two $400. plane tickets is a whole different
story.
There are exceptions to every
rule but one of the keys to a successful website is unique
content. Search engines like unique content and tend to ignore
sites with duplicate content that is found on cookie cutter web
sites. RAD Internet Advertising, Inc. will provide you with a
unique website you need to separate yourself from the others.
Which Affiliate Programs
Should You Join?
As mentioned above, if you have
a website, make sure the affiliate program is related to the
content of your site. If you are going to start from scratch and
have us design a website for you, stick with something you enjoy
or that you are knowledgeable about.
Where Do You Find Affiliate
Programs?
If you are looking for
something specific, do a Google search...
-
In the search box enter
YourKeyword+affiliate

Tax Deductions
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU
TALK TO YOUR ACCOUNTANT AND/OR TAX PREP FIRST
You can turn this venture into
a small home business and make many of your expenses tax
deductible. AGAIN, CONSULT WITH A FINANCIAL PROFESSIONAL FIRST!
If you create a business, you
can deduct all start up cost and related business expenses. If
you devote a certain section of your home to your business,
there are tax deductions you can take including a small
percentage of the mortgage and utilities.
For example... Let's say
Jennifer wants to visit Europe this year and also has plans for
Japan next year and the Caribbean the year after that.
She should first create a rough
draft of a business plan and then consult with her CPA and a
local
Small Business
Administration (SBA) representative for proper advice.
Name your business, keep
receipts of everything involved including mileage to and from
business meetings and the store to buy business related items.
After her meetings, Jennifer
creates "Jennifer's Travel Adventures". She has RAD Internet
Advertising, Inc. create her
tax
deductible website complete with blog for her writings and
photos. She also goes out and buys a new digital camera, a voice
recorder, new video camera, laptop computer and luggage. All tax
deductible to the business of course.
She orders her airline tickets
and books reservations on her business credit card keeping track of
all expenses incurred. She has already started entering notes on
her blog about which website she used to book her airline
tickets because they had the best deal.
She then enters which airline
she flew, how the flight was, how the attendants were, etc...
Jennifer keeps a detailed
journal of her trip thus enabling her to deduct all expenses. She is now a
small business owner. The active blog that she keeps and
articles that she post keep traffic flowing to her website. The
traffic to her site click on the banners to the airline
affiliate program and
vacation packages affiliate program she has signed up for
and they start to generate her some extra income.
Income generated from affiliate
websites must also be reported at tax time!
I'm sure you get the point. You
can do this! You can have fun and make money.
